Reflections on 2016

As I sit at my desk and the end of 2016 draws near, I like to look back and consider what we’ve achieved. This year 5,440 people attended our training events and as I reflect my overwhelming feeling is how lucky we are here in Australia to have the incredible healthcare providers and services we have.

My team and I completed 174 practice visits, took 67 flights and presented at 79 events and conferences to over 2154… Continue reading

Developing a ‘My Health Record’ Practice Workflow

Developing a ‘My Health Record’ Workflow

I am starting to hear good stories of benefits for healthcare providers and their patients using the My Health Record system. Of course what we need now is most of our patients to have a My Health Record and viewing and uploading to become routine. Only then will we start to see regular, significant benefits for our practices and patients. So right now all of… Continue reading

Help prepare your practices for the next round of changes to the Practice Incentives Program eHealth Incentive (ePIP)

Do you have a patient in your medical software called Test Test? Most medical practices do. This is important when first learning software. Hello from the Frontline

I hope you’re all having a wonderful year so far. To those I have met on my travels I can’t thank you enough for your kindness and enthusiasm at my training events.

                                                                                                                                                             eHealth update

People who know me know I call myself  the eHealth Queen after spending what felt like the entire year last year training eHealth. The Government’s formal PCEHR review has finally been released – read it here – with a most significant recommendation for changing to an opt-out system. You can also read my thoughts on eHealth here in a recent interview with Pulse IT ‘Barriers to PCEHR uptake on the frontline‘.  Continue reading
