Not that I needed a reminder of the power of measurement and data but I just got one.
Here I was reflecting that the year is half-way through.
I feel like it’s been a quieter 6 months workwise. Our awesome Senior Trainer Sue has been away completing a massive project (as well as her 2 days each week at the AMS) and I’ve had a lot of time off with increased carer duties, breaking my foot, moving house, moving office and spending a significant amount of time on my own selfcare (I hope you’ve all been enjoying my #selfcaresunday FB & IG posts).

But then I LOOK AT THE DATA and I am like WOW 🎉 we’ve actually achieved a lot:

🎯 8 Best Practice Conversions (and if you don’t know what a big deal they are, just imagine changing your entire software and systems for a moment).🤯
🎯 48 online training sessions (and this is just me)
🎯 25 practice coaching sessions. This is a new service whereby practices are spending an hour with me to focus on #data #technology & practice improvements. This is usually funded by their PHN or the Strengthening Medicare Grant. Hello to all our wonderful new coaching clients. 👋
🎯 15 practices onboarded to our Online Learning Management System (LMS) & Membership Program
🎯 6 ongoing projects
🎯 8 interstate trips (including to beautiful Paynesville and Mount Gambier).
🎯 4 formal training courses on #Bp Premier, #MedicalDirector & #QualityImprovements
🎯 1 conference presentation

That’s a lot.  Even though I felt I wasn’t achieving enough. But what we think or feel is not always the truth right?! That’s why we need an evidence-based data driven approach.
Let me be your reminder to take the time to plan, reflect, assess your data, refocus and never forget to celebrate each achievement, no matter how small it seems.
And it’s important to focus on the right data for you and your business.

Plan your Selfcare

One thing I’ve seen and heard enough anecdotal data about to know is true is that there are a lot of people struggling.
So when you do plan your next 6 months, please build in those selfcare breaks. When you are adding staff to your team, implement new ways of keeping the team strong.

Team #TrainITMedical is doing a whole lot more of that this year. Sue’s just had a lovely month break (well-deserved after all she achieved on the massive project).
I told you all at the beginning of this year that it is a year of #selfcare and we will not let you forget it! We will be your constant reminders to put your own health first. 🤗

Personally, I will be taking a month for another overseas study tour in September.
Speaking of which – did you read the article I wrote for AAPM espousing the benefits of study tours for Practice Managers? It’s a total win/win/win I say:

1)  Holiday (selfcare on steroids)
2) We can work from anywhere these days. I’ll certainly be making more training content for you all as I will be in person with our US teammember #OTBrooke. That will be joyful work.
3) Return feeling reenergised for leading your practice forward with #innovativethinking and #positiveleadership.
